As a Sales Manager for paper goods and packaging products for GENERAL PAPER GOODS CO, INC, located in SE Atlanta, Georgia,  you will be responsible for leading and managing the sales team, driving revenue growth, and achieving sales targets in the paper goods and packaging industry. Your primary focus will be on generating new business opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will work closely with the marketing, operations, and production teams to develop and implement effective sales strategies and initiatives.


    1. Sales Strategy and Planning:
      • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve company objectives and revenue targets.
      • Identify new market opportunities, target customers, and competitive landscape.
      • Analyze sales data and market trends to optimize sales performance and forecast future sales.

    1. Team Leadership and Management:
      • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team.
      • Set clear sales targets, objectives, and performance goals for the team.
      • Provide guidance, support, and feedback to enhance the team's effectiveness and individual performance.
      • Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement improvement plans when necessary.

    1. Business Development:
      • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting and generating leads.
      • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and accounts.
      • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective marketing campaigns, promotions, and sales materials.
      • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and generate leads.

    1. Sales Operations and Execution:
      • Oversee the sales process from lead generation to closure, ensuring a smooth and efficient sales cycle.
      • Monitor and analyze sales metrics and KPIs to evaluate sales performance and identify areas for improvement.
      • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to the senior management team.

    1. Customer Relationship Management:
      • Understand customer needs, requirements, and challenges to propose suitable product solutions.
      • Maintain strong customer relationships by providing excellent customer service and support.
      • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
      • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or in a similar sales leadership role in the wholesale distribution industry
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and drive revenue growth.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and trade shows.
